The Challenge
Rocket Rentals, a Gloucestershire-based plant and tool hire company, faced ongoing downtime caused by fuel contamination. With equipment hired out to multiple customers, the quality of fuel added on site was highly variable — from large bowsers to small cans.
Despite trying additives and additional filters, machines were regularly standing idle while filters were replaced or breakdowns were diagnosed. This cost Rocket Rentals in maintenance and lost productivity, while frustrating customers who depended on reliable uptime.
The Solution
Rocket Rentals first encountered FuelActive on a Genquip welfare unit and quickly recognised its potential. The system’s floating pick-up ensures only the cleanest fuel is drawn from the tank, protecting engines from water and debris.
Following successful trials, FuelActive was rolled out across the entire Rocket Rentals fleet — including excavators, site dumpers, compaction equipment, telehandlers, and even HGV delivery trucks. Every new item of equipment added to the fleet is now fitted with FuelActive as standard.
