Company: L Lynch Plant Hire
Industry: Construction
Problem
Lynch began working with FuelActive after recognising the FuelActive solution could be a major factor in supporting their sustainability goals. Encouraged by the ability to retrofit and simplicity of install, the initial focus was setting up a trial on Bell Equipment Dump Trucks.
Solution
A 6-month trial was set up on 10 Bell B30E haul trucks, 5 with FuelActive, 5 without. Utilisation, duty cycles and payloads were precisely matched to ensure an accurate comparison of test data.
Over 960 data points were analysed capturing over 4,832 hours of data via the OEM telemetry system.
The results of the trial were outstanding with recognised fuel efficiency improvements of 3.65%.
With these impressive results, Lynch are rolling out FuelActive’s technology across its fleet, reinforcing its ambition to create the UK’s most sustainable plant hire fleet.

Results

Based on the results of the trial period, L Lynch Plant Hire worked out they will save 77,600 kg of CO₂ over a 4-year period on 10 trucks.

L Lynch Plant Hire would also save 30,000 litres of fuel over that same 4-year period on 10 trucks.

Cost savings for L Lynch Plant Hire would be in excess of £35,000 just on fuel with financial benefits of machine uptime, maintenance and repair costs not yet recognised.
